An Advocacy Panel has been set up to promote Darwin200 to key stakeholders.
The FSC are running two projects to celebrate the bicentenary. In August 2008, young scientists from around 30 countries will take part in a Darwin Scholarship programme at the Preston Montford Field Centre in Shropshire. The goals of the programme will be to strengthen observation and recording skills and to enhance the capacity of scientists to communicate biodiversity issues to the wider community. From autumn 2008 until autumn 2009 a schools project called In Darwin’s Footsteps will link schools around the world will with schools in Shropshire to observe and record local biodiversity. The results will be shared through a website and a media event in Shrewsbury.
