Many organisations, large and small, across the UK are planning an incredible variety of events to celebrate the life and legacy of Charles Darwin.
From conferences and exhibitions to graphic novels and dramatic performances, there is something for everyone from scientists to young children.

An Advocacy Panel has been set up to promote Darwin200 to key stakeholders.
VisitBritain will be working with the Darwin200 partners to help promote the heritage and cultural aspects of the bicentenary programme in the run up to 2009 and during the year itself.
'Darwin and his evolutionary theory continue to ignite widespread debate and enthrall audiences both here and overseas. The 2009 anniversary will, I believe, prompt a recognition of the real contribution that Darwin made to scientific understanding and development.'
